Ghosts and Baby Monitors....

Were you just in his room? Nope. Did you just laugh at something? Nope. After this riveting exchange, Linds' face went 'white'...She said 'that makes me feel sick'. She then proceeded to tell me she heard a deep chuckle laughing along with Grayson while he was beginning his 'going to sleep' countdown. We are now near the cusp of being able to put him down at night (the time seems to be varying alot these days) and he will talk/coo to himself and then fall asleep. Wicked. Or not.

He got up at 1:30am like he just remembered he had backstage tickets for Pearl Jam and the show was in Seattle and it was last night. He was crying, 'flipping out' is our term for it and we had only be asleep for an hour.

When your child 'flips' out after being so great at night for about 3 weeks, which included a 2 week road trip to/back from Northern BC, sleeping in a trailer...you get a bit sad. We thought he was doing awesome with the sleeping thing. We asked ourselves why he wasn't sleeping? why was he flipping out? we had an awesome first day with plenty of singing and walking around town (Terrace Bay) and checked out the wind storm as it rolled in. Then I remembered the 'chuckle' that Linds heard from his room. Creepy.

Yesterday was one of the coolest day's of my life.

First off, get a Baby Bjorn or some form of a carrying apparatus that you can put the child on your front facing out. Grab an ipod or walkman and head out on a walk. You feel like a rockstar. People love seeing kids, they loved to be smiled at by a small child. It opens doors.

We walked for a couple hours before his afternoon feeding/sleeping session and it basically made my life easy for a bit. Yeah, I know, my life is 'easy' already being married to a doctor.....anyways, he digs U2, Sarah Harmer, Wintersleep, and some PJ...along with Dylan and Johnny when he is in the mood. So, we chilled and walked...it was great.

The day was long, but rewarding. I fed him the first bottle that he actually drank and then fell asleep...one thing I've noticed, your daily goals changed considerably with a little one at home. Morning nap.

Thanks for all of the cool emails and for reading....I sort of feel like a tool (Kenny: That's because you are!)...but, you put things aside when kids are around. We also listen to Howard while writing it...so we've got that going for us.
